From the Boogie Down Bronx, to Brooklyn & Compton, CA to right here in the south of Virgnia’s know 2up/2 down! Here to serve up some of that good soul food as we aim to please all our customers. Although, we only offer take out services, our goal is to make you feel at home or just put you in a good mood when you walk into Geraldine’s Kitchen. We plan on serving the community for years to come. From the time you walk in, until the time you leave out of Geraldine’s, our mission is to keep you smiling. Whether it’s a good ole bounce to the music while you’re ordering or a simple head bop to say, “Thank you coming”. Our only focus is to keep you coming back!

We are a Soul Food restaurant offering a list of good options to serve you. We offer an array of your typical soul food platters with delicious dinners ranging from BBQ Ribs, Turkey Wings, Chicken wings, and even up a notch with some tasty Stuffed Chicken to give it a little more flavor within your “Soul”! Can miss out on those sides that your Parents, Grandparents or Aunt’s & Uncles made especially during the holiday season or just a good ole fashioned Sunday night dinner. Yes, we serve the good stuff a nice cold slammin Macaroni or Potato salad, then some hot things on the menu from Candied yams, some of us like the marshmallows on top! You, us too, along with some cheesy Mac & cheese & more…We have a limited menu on the weekends where we’ll do a Fish Fry Fridays & some shrimp to go with it. On Saturdays, we’re kicking on the full menu & cooking up some steak & cheese, grilled chicken & bacon club sandwiches, along with some Smashburger’s & eggrolls. To wash it down, grab you a drink on the way out as well for some cold Iced Tea & some Ice Blue Raspberry Kool-Aid, along with a several other options! Meet our very best, the ones who makes all the delicious foods
Inspired by Gerladine Beverly Harris who also raised me, has been my inspiration my whole life. I used to watch the joy in her eyes while cooking & listening to “some oldies, but goodies” blaring on the radio. She would just cook & dance all throughout the kitchen for hours on end. Once the food was done, it would smell up the entire house filled with the most soul food aroma you could only imagine. Her passion to cook & please others blessed by her hands, she cooked with love. That’s what truly made her food so tasty & delicious. To op it off, those delicious cakes she would bake from her infamous carrot cake to her pistachio cake, she never missed a beat! Until her early departure in December of 1995, she has passed that same desire on to me to enjoy cooking for others & keeping her passion alive.

Marcelis Porter
Born & raised in Compton, CA, father of two beautiful kids to Jaxon & J’lani. Marcelis has an array of experience in the restaurant industry from Olive Garden along with several other well-known places. He brings his expertise in this industry to help ensure that Gerladine’s has what she needs to succeed.
