Inspired by Gerladine Beverly Harris who also raised me, has been my inspiration my whole life. I used to watch the joy in her eyes while cooking & listening to “some oldies, but goodies” blaring on the radio. She would just cook & dance all throughout the kitchen for hours on end. Once the food was done, it would smell up the entire house filled with the most soul food aroma you could only imagine. Her passion to cook & please others blessed by her hands, she cooked with love. That’s what truly made her food so tasty & delicious. To op it off, those delicious cakes she would bake from her infamous carrot cake to her pistachio cake, she never missed a beat! Until her early departure in December of 1995, she has passed that same desire on to me to enjoy cooking for others & keeping her passion alive.
